Gentry's Farm Field Trip

L's first school field trip was to Gentry's Farm.

Prior to even arriving at the Farm (I assume) L's teacher had assigned her parent chaperones to two or three children each.  So, after all the classes were lined up outside the bus, she handed me an index card with L and a classmates name, and also what group (another class) we were to follow.  It was a little unfortunate that L's class was unable to stay together as a class, but at least his teacher had everything organized... much better than the some of the other classes.  So, another parent chaperone and I had these four kiddos from L's class:

"The Fabulous Four" for L's class

The first thing we did was gather on a wagon and go for a hayride over to the pumpkin patch.  One of Ls best buddies from his preschool (in a different K class) was able to ride on the hayride with us.

We rode over to the pumpkin patch and the kids were able to pick out, and cut, their own pumpkins right in the patch.  L did a whole lot of searching before finding the perfect pumpkin.

After the kids collected their pumpkin, we rode over to feed one rotten pumpkin to the cows.  Who knew that cows like pumpkins?

After the hayride, the classes divided again to play in some different stations.

L and I both had a pretty great time.  I'm so happy E was in school, and my father-in-law was able to keep O.
